Greek Turkey Burgers

If you make any recipe posted on this blog, THIS IS THE ONE. I know I say this a lot, but I really mean it when I say that this is one of the best things I think I've ever tasted. For someone who is not crazy about turkey, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this recipe. I was soooooo happy when I made this because it was one of my all time favorites. This is a great way to get a leaner version of a traditional burger, without the fat and loaded with flavor. The coolest part was that it made 6 patties, and I froze 5 of them raw to take out on a weeknight later on (let me just say, since then, they're all gone). The yogurt sauce adds another level of flavor and totally brings this dish to a new level.  I served it with cucumbers and dipped them in the extra sauce! Also - I chose the healthier route and did not serve them on bread.

Prep Time: 20 min // Cook Time: 10 min // Total Time: 30 min

Ingredients:
7 oz plain greek yogurt
1 medium fresh lemon
1/4 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp dried dill
1.25 lb ground turkey
6 halves sun dried tomatoes
1 medium red onion
2 oz. frozen spinach (I used fresh!!)
1/2 cup crumbled feta
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1 large egg
1 medium cucumber
salt and pepper to taste

Directions: Prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, minced garlic, dry dill, juice of 1/2 the lemon, dash of salt. Stir and refrigerate while you cook. Chop spinach, sundried tomatoes, and red onion. Combine ground turkey with the vegetables, feta, minced garlic, dried oregano, eggs, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Mix until combined, and shape into 6 patties. Cook the burgers on a counter top grill, non-stick skillet, or over open flame. Spread the yogurt sauce on the burgers, or dip it.
